In the United States today, more than 5 million children, or 7% of all children, have a parent who is or has been incarcerated. Minnesota's model jail practices learning community brings together staff from jail facilities and community partners at the state and local levels to help implement policy, systems, and environmental changes that benefit children of incarcerated parents and their families.
